INDIAN HILLS RESIDENCE
Marietta, Georgia
With the attribute of sitting on the edge of a golf course, a small creek and beautiful tall trees, this 1980s clapboard house begged to take in the views more. The clients, being avid golfers, also very much wanted the views of the landscape to be incorporated into the design. Our studio accomplished this by designing a family room addition that included a gabled ceiling which created the height for clerestory windows, a stone fireplace and 15 feet of sliding glass French doors that overlook the greens. We also redesigned and extended the kitchen so that another 15-foot-wide sliding glass French door were added to take in more views of the green. This created a kind of panoramic view for our clients whether they were inside cooking, sitting by the fireplace, making a cocktail or reading a book on their deck. Beyond the beautiful panoramic views, a mudroom, butler pantry, and a wet bar were also added to the main floor. The second floor’s primary suite was renovated and a laundry room created.
