CAPE COD RESIDENCE

Harwich Port, Massachusetts

Once an antique shop housed in an old barn built in the 1800s – the owners were looking to make some changes.

With the planning of life’s next steps, the owners of the property wanted to leave the property’s main house to their children and grandchildren to use, while they moved just steps away to this transformed Cape Cod antique shop turned cozy little home.

The transformation entailed stabilizing the structure, while maintaining the original exterior barn doors, shaker siding and feel, while also completely renovating the interior into a livable space.  All new systems were needs + raising part of the roof to be able to create an upstairs primary suite. The original stairs were moved and brought to code. Natural light was maximized by opening the entry way (new stair location) to the 2nd floor while also adding 3 sets of French doors to the rear of the side that open up to a new screened-in deck. And the renovation would not be complete without the implementation of the classic “outdoor” cape cod shower. A must have.
